Clinical Interests
Adult Congenital Heart Disease, including diagnosis and management of advanced complex congenital heart disease refractory to therapy, diagnostic cardiac catheterization for coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, pulmonary hypertension, and exercise-induced hemodynamic abnormalities.
Research Interests
Diastolic and systolic left and right ventricular mechanics, and ventricular interaction. Characterization of early diastolic relaxation and ventricular filling. Pharmacologic modifiers of diastolic function. Pathologic modifiers of diastolic dysfunction (ischemia, diabetes, hypertension, abnormal loading conditions). Role of tissue plasminogen activator, streptokinase, role of complementary drugs. Cardiac Imaging: angiography, echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, CT, PET.
Congenital heart disease: Diagnostic imaging in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease; management of patients with late-stage cavo-pulmonary shunts; hemodynamic pathophysiology and clinical sequelae of Fontan and Glenn shunts; psycho/social issues in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease; pregnancy in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease; arrhythmias in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease
