Clinical Interests

General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Structural Heart Disease, Valvular heart disease (interventional and clinical)

Research Interests

My research interests are focused on the application of percutaneous techniques to valvular heart disease: replacement of the aortic valve and repair of the mitral valve. Current projects include: 1) definition of clinical and hemodynamic variables for appropriate selection of patients undergoing percutaneous aortic valve replacement, 2) hemodynamic assessment and effect of concomitant valve disease in patients undergoing valvular therapy, 3) determination of anatomic and echocardiographic variables associated with recurrent cryptogenic stroke and incomplete closure of patent foramen ovale.
