Nuclear Cardiology

The Nuclear Cardiology Unit is a joint effort of the Cardiology Division and nuclear medicine staffed by nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field. Employing the latest technologies, the service is supported by the full resources of the Medical Center and is highly integrated into the larger, non-invasive imaging initiative.

Clinical expertise

  • Stress/rest SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging, with either exercise or pharmacologically induced stress
  • Cardiac transthyretin (TTR) amyloid detection using SPECT
  • Stress/rest N13-ammonia PET myocardial perfusion imaging and concurrent myocardial flow reserve (MFR) assessment.
  • Myocardial viability detection using either PET or SPECT
  • Cardiac sarcoidosis detection with PET
  • Cardiovascular device infection identification with PET
  • Radionuclide ventriculography
