Mechanisms of Reverse Myocardial Remodeling

Research Interests

Our basic research interests focus broadly on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying myocardial muscle dysfunction and recovery. We have pursued two general themes in the past few years: 1) cardiac innate immunity and inflammatory biology and 2) regulation of cardiac mitochondrial biology and energy metabolism. Clinically, I am a member of the Center for Adults with Congenital Heart Disease and we have a number of small studies ongoing with this very unique group of patients.
