We perform the region’s highest volume of cardiovascular procedures resulting in outstanding outcomes. Barnes-Jewish Hospital, at Washington University Medical Center, is one of 17 hospitals nationally with better than expected outcomes following a heart attack. Our congestive heart failure/transplant program implants more ventricular assist devices than any other center in the region. We are the only center in the region performing percutaneous aortic valve implantation. More than 2,000 patients a month are seen in the Heart and Vascular Institute of the Center for Advanced Medicine. These are just a few examples of the outstanding and technologically advanced care offered by the Cardiovascular Division at Washington University.
